Well he’s not posting much, thought I would humor him a bit…

Try a variety of different settings and you will see most of them act/react more to the more commonly used settings, hence The self-fulfilling prophecies theory.

You may apply this to futures a well. Like the 34 ema kiss play on futures indices.

Now, when used as targets… I am happy.

But I get your view.

Cheers!
Post away.... Open house here.

Act/React to supply and demand zones.

Good stuff... tzatziki mmm :)

How many adds to original position do you play when trade goes against initial entry?
What's your tap out point?
Just went for small scalp with thigh stop. Second entry was same, but I use stealth tp and it slipped a bit lower giving me a bit more back. Don’t add.

Considering that allegedly 95% of those that play this game leave with a negative return, I'm wary of "self fulfilling prophecy indicators" that so many rely on when trading.

I think your edge is elsewhere.....
If you put it on the 5min eursud you will see it hit it nicely then continued on downward. It tends to react to it more just before and during NY session.I don't use it like the majority is tought how to use it. MAybe some edge there...

lol.. no worries, just poking fun.

I do like MAs, I watch the 72 EMA on forex. It keeps me in trades longer if I'm on the right side of it and want to let the trade run.

For USD/JPY I always have a 5 and 9 EMA on a 5 minute chart lined up since the pair tends to be propped up by them on breakout moves (so a sign of where to get in on a pullback for a quick scalp in the direction of the breakout.)

The only thing I'm not a fan of (when it comes to MAs) is using them as a signal on their own.. like one crossing the other, or price crossing the MA. That just ends up being a lagging indicator based entry and I'd much rather wait for some type of confirmation first vs just hitting the number as it breaks through.

Maybe Alpha could chime in about this, if he uses them at all in his scalps (I believe he does.)
Chiming in.. ;D
No EMA/MA. Play price action when scalping.

All Indi's require confluence.

R/R expectancy was making enough for some tzatziki, lol. Just kidding. :)

Cheers!

You in a trade? Like seeing if they pan out. :) Might enter in a couple...

No trading on Friday for me.
I've purchased new modem/router and added DECT phones to the network... sure enough no connection to MT4. Ninja-Trader was fine.
Friday night Aussie time I'm not interested in hurting my little brain with tech issues with which I've no idea...

Nice trading guys :)

I just started digging into some of Shop's stuff on divergences and fib extensions.. applying this to scalping on low timeframes seems very interesting.

Alpha, is that kinda how you're looking at things on M1 charts?

My documented trades recently have been awful ;D

Shop mentored me and showed me his style of trading 8) I use expansion and divergence for certain setups, in particular higher t/f trades. One full pull on 15 minute or hourly setup provides necessary pips for the week.
The trade I took before US Home sales was shop setup.

I will play divergence and fib extension on one minute if it sets up with certain patterns. Head and shoulders, three sisters and one-leggers being personal favourites.
Divergence and Fib expansion just works.... ;)

Majority of trades I'm putting up are just 1 minute contrarian P/A plays.

Will start posting up various time frame trades. Long and short & multiple currencies.

Jack, you may want to change title of this thread :)
