that was a 'Boxtrolls' reference, right?

American women say "jelly" when they're "jealous". I was using it ironically, ha.

what is Boxtrolls and what is brb?

Boxtrolls is a kids movie that is out where there is an older fellow who runs around screaming "Jelly" to express joy. I saw "Jelly" and thought it was a reference. brb is a text abreviation for 'be right back.'

...Hong Kong isn't that bad, right? What about Singapore? I hear it's healthily capitalist....

lived in them both and a few others as well. All depends upon what you want. Both Singapore and HK can seem restrictive at times. On the plus side, no Jelly American women.

Thanks, thought I knew everything, obviously not :p

On another issue - Look at the oil price (WTI)

I'm getting an ominous feeling. Maybe ICT was right about a crash in mid Feb this year.

I think what I'll do, is just pick one pair to trade (either Cable or Fiber I suspect) for the week, based on the weekly chart and/or upcoming news releases. Hopefully a more focused workload will help me right this emotional trainwreck...

...and now for an inspirational music video:

We know that's not true. The hardest part to utilizing ICT principles, is just waking up that early. I always feel like the NY open is mid-story, though I trade it. In an ideal world the trading day for me would start at 3:00 am - Ouch.
I live in Canada near Toronto (damn cold :'( ). I struggled with the sleep issue as well. When you are over tired :-\ you sometimes make bad trade decisions :-\ . I have attempted to give up on trading several times :hairpull: but I know I can do this if I keep my mind clear  . I have started going to bed between 6pm and 8pm EST. I get up at 1:30am for London open. I go back to bed :bored: around 5 or 6am ( if I have not closed out my trade I make sure my targets are set ) and usually don't worry about trading NY open. Since I have done this my trading has greatly improved :pbnj: :pbnj: and I have way less stress.

Yeah I get up for LO and then sleep again at 3 or 4 with targets set. Wake up at 6am and run my company.

Looks like most here at FXG have learned a lot from ICT. Is he the only one with valuable info regarding FX?

I've searched a lot and have found a handful of OK books, videos, etc but ICT just blows them out of the water.

I was trading way to many pairs before and was consistently  LOSING  . I now only trade cable and fibre.

Speaking of Oil and ICT principles. This last high right above the 40's level.

Look at the weekly, canary in the coal mine? Suspect that the continuous sell off has more to do with 'future' economic activity rather than with Saudi and US excess supply.

I love trading but I don't think I could stay up overnight. I tried it for about 3 months when I first started. I had a "mentor" that taught me the basics like what DOM chart was, difference between an entry buy/market buy/stop buy, etc. The main problem is as goldengun said, it puts stress on all other areas of your life. If I knew exactly what I was doing and could make a fortune, I'd happily do it. But if I was alone in the darkness gambling (because I don't understand the concepts fully), it could lead to a very dark life. For now, I think using the concepts as an intermediate time trader is the best thing to do. Fractals exist on all time frames. No need to be m15 precise. I don't think I could be even if I wanted right now. Once the bankroll is built up a bit and you know exactly what you're doing, I say move to a different time zone, or just commit to it because who needs sleep when there's a sure way of making a million? Jack's thread about professionalism certainly helps. A solid routine for your overall health will go a long way in your decision making.

If you do wake up and get a great entry on a Tuesday/Wednesday then it´s one shot one kill and you can sleep well for the rest of the week just managing the trade/s. Depends on your goals and trading style I guess. Otherwise.. pending orders?
