As per multiple requests by our users, the first post of any thread you create is now modifiable forever.
A reply to a thread (be it your own or a thread by another member) now has a 30 minute window to edit before the post becomes etched in rock.
This will allow for thread starters to edit the first post of the thread (say, to update a table of contents, and provide current information about the thread, which helps new readers see what the thread is all about, especially if the thread has grown to 50+ pages,) while the 30 minute editing time for non-first-posts makes all members more transparent and unable to retract bad calls or edit out their transgressions long after posting.
Please feel free to ask any questions or make any comments about this change here. I'm happy to talk about it.
