Metatrader 4 - Undock Charts - Multi Monitor Support for MT4

Hey all,

I found this online ages ago and figured I'd upload it here since I can't remember where I got it from. (In other words, I do not take credit for this tool.. it's not mine.)

It's a window / chart undocking tool.

You add it to a chart like it was an indicator and the chart window will detach from MT4 and can then be moved independently from MT4's terminal (and even to another monitor entirely.)

For anyone using multiple monitors or just wants a clean, single chart to work with instead of the space wasting MT4 layout, this is for you. Now you can have the terminal in one window showing one chart, and each additional monitor showing an independent chart.

To install: Put the ex4 file in your experts scripts folder, and the DLL library from MT4i in your library folder.

(I didn't create this. I think it's related to MT4i's work since it uses one of their libraries, but it works on any broker's MT4...)

Thanks to the latest builds of MT4 causing some issues with this tool, a member here (shopster) found out that it currently runs a bit better if treated as a script, not an EA.

So placing the ex4 in your scripts folder might be a better bet.

Im testing the Unlock Chart script and it works well, charts detach which enables them to be organised with Winsplit, however when I close MT4 the windows revert back to within the terminal window which means they would have to be detached every day, is this normal or is there a "fix" for this?

Might be a fix, haven’t found it. Maybe someone else did… I use different instance of MT4 instead. It reduces the load off of each instance. Seeing that I have some resource intensive bells and whistles.

Saw your post about Zoomit and the mouse you use.

You may appreciate these too.

And as for a mouse, well this is my baby. Using Xmouse buttons and the original firmware I have setup most of my tasks via the mouse. Call it lazy or productive. :)

thanks Ramy I had a little play with xmouse, works well.

Also what did you mean by different instance of MT4?

Cant go back to a standard mouse, RSI got the better of me..

Missed the RSI part.

Xmouse buttons setting.

Replace with whatever combo. {Ctrl}Z

Different instances, meaning each chart has its own process/instalation of MT4. Avoids freezing. Trades go through totally clean charts and different processes/instalations as well.

Lol, is it me or did you just totally delete asking for Xmouse buttons setting. {Ctrl}Z came from somewhere...

is there already a better version of this script? its working , but the menu are missing and everytime you closed mt4 u need to detach them again everytime u open it. Maybe by this time a new version is already available? free one please.
