Hey everyone!
I'm curious to know what trading or Forex-related movies you've watched and would recommend. Whether it’s classic Wall Street dramas, documentaries, or anything in between—I'm looking for films that dive into the world of finance, markets, and Forex. Personally, I’ve seen The Big Short and Wall Street, but I’m looking for more recommendations.

What’s your favorite trading-related movie, and why?

Saw the big short recently, cannot call it a favorite but that is the only that comes time mind besides the Wolf of WallStreet

Margin Call (2011) - This film provides a thrilling glimpse into the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis. It follows key players at an investment bank during a 24-hour period as they try to manage the fallout from their risky investments. It’s a gripping story that highlights the ethical dilemmas in finance.

Trading Places (1983) - A classic comedy that satirizes the trading world, this film follows a snobbish investor and a street con artist who find their lives reversed by a bet between two wealthy brokers. It’s both entertaining and provides insights into the dynamics of the stock market.

Inside Job (2010) - This documentary offers a detailed analysis of the 2008 financial crisis, featuring interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, and journalists. It breaks down the complex system of financial regulations and practices that led to the crisis, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in finance.

Floor (2009). A documentary showing the transition from physical to electronic trading on the Chicago Stock Exchange, following several futures traders as they try to adapt. It is an eye-opening film about how technology has changed the world of commerce and the impact it has had on those who resist change.

"Wall Street" (1987), directed by Oliver Stone, follows Bud Fox, an ambitious stockbroker, as he enters the high-stakes world of finance under the guidance of ruthless corporate raider Gordon Gekko. The film explores greed, ambition, and moral compromise, with Michael Douglas delivering an Oscar-winning performance as Gekko.

I absolutely love this film for its sharp storytelling and iconic characters!

I really liked it. It shows the pressure and tough decisions during the start of the 2008 crisis. The way the characters handle the chaos felt so real, and Jeremy Irons as the CEO was amazing. It made me think about how far people go for money.

Dumb Money
It’s one of the best recent trading-related movies, covering the insane GameStop short squeeze from 2021. Unlike traditional Wall Street dramas, this one focuses on retail traders—everyday people who went up against hedge funds and turned the markets upside down.

The film does a great job capturing the hype, the memes, and the chaos of that period. It’s got a solid cast, and while it simplifies some of the market mechanics, it really nails the cultural impact of what happened.
