Ah yes, now that's constructive. Thanks :)

I agree, once number 2 is in place, no problem. But I think it is OK to have some down time. Over trading can take many forms. It is good to know that you can walk away and the market will be there when you come back. Balance is good. Knowing one's own limitations is good. Some people can trade like they were the EverReady Bunny (legendary Aussie TV commercial - you may have similar) while others need a breather to recharge. To each their own.

PS. Can you tell I'm tired. Must have been all that laughing. ;)

Yea... Nah its not about that, i totally agree, structure your life, trade, and then get out.. But not to trade because there are news is the fallacy in my opinion.
You mean the duracell bunny? :D

Yes, fair point, you're quite right. Then it comes down to trader preparation (psychology) and the suitability of the edge. Most find one or both make the news too risky to trade up close. If they can acknowledge that, then sitting it out is the smart move. So you're right, if you have the edge and the desire, with justifiable confidence, then go for it.

Yes, the Duracell Bunny is related. They breed like rabbits.

Eveready & Energizer are the same company. Which makes it odd to have the bunny be named differently in different parts of the world.

awwww, breakeven :(

If I wanted to hindsight this one, I'd say they ran the CDR sell stops. But that's a pretty weak trade to make going into an NFP release, big possibility of get smoked the other way.

I prefer to take out my weekly target with one well placed shot. If it takes more than that, then I work with it, but it is not my preference to be trigger-happy.

4 trades on a NFP friday? That would feel like whack-a-mole trading to me. It took a lot of training and conscious habit-changing to STOP trading like that, in fact.

But that's why we're different traders! Different styles, different personalities.

As long as there is an underlying reason for a trade instead of whack a mole, its ok for me ;)
