When do you wait?

When you spot a trade, how do you decide whether to go for it immediately or hold off and wait for a clearer signal?
 
I wait when price is in the middle and I do not see clear risk reward. Many bad trades in my journal came from entering because I was bored, not because the setup was ready
 
I used to jump into setups 10-15 minutes before high-impact news, thinking “this time it will be different”. Almost always regretted it.
Now I just close the platform and come back after the volatility spike. Saved me a lot of money.
 
I usually wait when price is sitting in the middle of nowhere or right before major news. No clear structure, no clean invalidation, bad spread, or late entry after the move already ran - those are usually signs to leave it alone. Waiting is part of the setup, not wasted time
 
I wait when price is in the middle of nowhere. If there’s no clean level, no liquidity taken, spreads are ugly, or news is close, forcing a trade usually means paying tuition. Best entries normally feel boring because you already knew what needed to happen before clicking
 
I usually wait when the setup is not clear or the risk does not make sense. After a losing streak, forcing trades only makes things worse, so I prefer to stay patient.
 
I wait when price is between levels, the stop has no logical location, or the move already happened before the entry formed. Missing a trade is usually cheaper than entering late just because the chart is moving
 
Do you also wait if the risk-reward drops below a certain level, even when the setup looks clean?
 
I wait when the setup is not clear or the risk does not justify the trade. Forcing entries usually costs more than missing one.
 
I stay out when the market is giving mixed signals. Waiting for a cleaner opportunity usually saves me from unnecessary losses.
 
For me the wait is when the idea makes sense but price hasn’t actually confirmed it yet. Especially around a key level, letting the candle close or structure shift first can save a lot of entries that looked perfect for five minutes and then completely failed
