Just received an email from FXCM in Spanish, I think it says; Non farm Payroll Figures Suspended due to Government shut down.

Ye, not enough data without Government jobs. Just goes to show how absurdly large the public sector is..

Lol or maybe its showing that most of the reports by the government(like nfp by the bureau of statistics) so when these offices are closed, they aren't posting reports. But why to reach for normal and logical conclusions.. ::)

Hi all,

Have been away so first post in a while and unfortunately is another question. Hopefully I can contribute to the forum a bit more constructively in the future.

Anyway, at the end of ICT's latest video (Ep 4) he showed the following slide. Is someone able to explain to me why market structure shifted after breaking the 2nd swing high and not the 1st? (see picture).

Thanks in advance, hope everyone is well :)

Can you spell "annoying little brat"? But basically u are stating that there isn't enough data without govjobs. So just intrested to know, in your opinion if they are sending a worker to a leave, they dont know hes exits, or they don't know who they sent home?
Nice educated conclusion.

Hi arms!I think(my opinion alone), if theres a 1st brake in ms, thats usually a stoprun and only after the first also broked should be considered an uptrend(the 2nd usually becomes an ITL or ITH in this case)Also notice that the setup takes place in an ote in a range between the recent ITL and ITH.Like most of the best setups.
Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Piper

I cant speak for ICT but strictly speaking the first break is the market structure shift and in my opinion the second confirms the accumulation.

Aussie markets sold off pretty well today, they possibly will keep selling off to, note all markets tend to turn in tandem when at major tops and bottoms, keeping a close eye on US markets this week and next week, if they turn, then there could be a good selling op on any 3 way pull back

Thanks Piper and Foreigner :)

Both your answers do make sense... I think I just need to go back over some past price action and train my eye a little better ;)

Back to the charts...

Could someone please remind me, what are the times to mark on the charts for the Asian session according to ICT's rules? Is it 00.00 - 05.00 GMT? (i dont use MT4 platform so cant use the template).

It also depends on your time zone and what your broker time is not your local time. You can be from the UK and if your with Oanda Canada your broker time is that of EST.
