A,

u left a few hundred on the table........:)

s,

yeah lol.... traded Asia into EuroZone. Had had enough trading and placed hard TP & SL and went to bed. Silly overworked mind was niggling at me to bail on the position... and I acquiesced , now regretfully.

Was nice setup. Should've just fibbed her out and taken the dollars.
Need to top up the ice water in the veins.

Que sera sera. Next trade/s..... :)

Dude, shorted AUSUSD off high of day. Damn thing just keeps going higher... Waiting for next entry. Don't usually trade it but it looks like it may want to retrace soon...

Well that's the plan at least, lol. :)

Hmmm, might be looking at some more pipies.

Short 92214
out 92183

A quicky. 8)

still more room. 25% retrace of day move /HL comming up... But who knows, lol.

Just to clarify things, the 34 ema is proclaimed (in some milieu ) as being a Self-fulfilling prophecy indicator because so many people rely on it in their trading. And, it does very more often than not give you a (if not exact) support/resistance/turn around. Well at least as far as my trading is concerned.

Use it well.

Cheers!

Oh, forgot to mention, i use it on the 5 and 15 min charts. And a MTF one on the 1 min chart.

Has this thread become Scalping with Ramy? :p

As for EMA's, by their nature price will return to them, given it's an average of price.. so combine that with visual bias (you look for it to work, so you see it when it works) and pretty much every MA appears to work in some ways.

Still though, I like MAs for keeping me in a trade or giving me an obvious 'this is the trend direction' sign.

Lol,:p

Well he’s not posting much, thought I would humor him a bit…

Try a variety of different settings and you will see most of them act/react more to the more commonly used settings, hence The self-fulfilling prophecies theory.

You may apply this to futures a well. Like the 34 ema kiss play on futures indices.

Now, when used as targets… I am happy.

But I get your view.

Cheers!

lol.. no worries, just poking fun.

I do like MAs, I watch the 72 EMA on forex. It keeps me in trades longer if I'm on the right side of it and want to let the trade run.

For USD/JPY I always have a 5 and 9 EMA on a 5 minute chart lined up since the pair tends to be propped up by them on breakout moves (so a sign of where to get in on a pullback for a quick scalp in the direction of the breakout.)

The only thing I'm not a fan of (when it comes to MAs) is using them as a signal on their own.. like one crossing the other, or price crossing the MA. That just ends up being a lagging indicator based entry and I'd much rather wait for some type of confirmation first vs just hitting the number as it breaks through.

Maybe Alpha could chime in about this, if he uses them at all in his scalps (I believe he does.)

Ditto on the crossing. Just love to see price moving away from them making reversal (as you mentioned, returning to them) targets larger . Close out a bit earlier and the rest is history. That’s one of my plays. 8)

Hey, but to each his own regarding trading.

I make it sound simple, but, there is a bit more to it.

Lol, who's Alpha.

Cheers!

Good stuff... tzatziki mmm :)

How many adds to original position do you play when trade goes against initial entry?
What's your tap out point?

Considering that allegedly 95% of those that play this game leave with a negative return, I'm wary of "self fulfilling prophecy indicators" that so many rely on when trading.

I think your edge is elsewhere.....
