why are you all being so hostile? jesus, all i said was that there is real merit in trading the higher time frames. yes, it's slower, but there is less risk involved, less investment of your time is necessary, and the candle signals are more likely to hold value (than the lower ones). and yes, i believe in using a stoploss, when properly placed it is a protective measure - it doesn't mean you are chicken shit. i don't trade the way many of you trade, but i don't go on your threads and start attacking everything you say. because that's rude. what, no one is welcome here if they aren't scalping 50 trades a day?

that again, is an assumption.

also, you should be glad that people are "hostile" here, though i wouldnt call it hostile myself. they are just honest and don't back people on their retail ideas to make them feel good (you can go to other forums like BP for that)
someday you'll see the value of the "hostility". maybe

Kelli, no hostility, it's just thinking outside the box.

The box has been created over recent years by the many 'educators', who like to write a lot.

Here are three of the box teachings, there are many others.

Know your strengths and weaknesses, trade to your strengths

Run your winners and cut your losses

Focus on the pips and the dollars will take care of themselves

Focus on the risk associated with each trade, do your calculation of risk before entry

Outside box thinking:

Weakness must dictate trading style- so you haven't the patience to watch paint dry, or you crave the excitement of the market - then trade short term, or maybe the weakness is lack of time, then longer term.

Feck the losers and take your winners and put them in the bank.

What are pips? - it's a money market not a pip market - focus on the dollars

And lastly the mama of them all - risk.

A fancy r:r ratio all set up, but what about probability, what about measuring that little baby, the tighter stop with the longer tp, wonder does probability swing immediately in one direction.

OK Jeronimo, you have been picking the older guys to sing, spot the younger ones?

Merit..? If i'll show you a 1min chart or a monthly withhout tf you'll know wich is wich..? And since its the same, well the reason you cant trade it, its prolly cause ur slow or can't handle pressure. Now the whinery about the hostile environment, well, maybe the pics are dickish a bit. But you actually recieved some good advice (maybe seems harsh) shop even threw you a link to a great guy. Now i do get it that ur a chick and etc, and peeps are usually probably treat you a bit nicer. If ur a hot chick, then you're pretty much fucked in this biz, since the expected nice behavior that you normally get everywhere (and the expectation is prolly hardwired into you now) is not going to happen by the markets. You are going to be chopped to pieces while expecting the usual niceities ur getting and already conditioned into ur mind. Its nothing personal ,hun. Just the way it is. Dont jump into a pool filled with sharks if you dunno how to swim. No worries, ur prolly getting offended by my harsh shit. And thats normal. But (refer to Jack's psych article) normal doesn't works in the markets. Its getting ripped to pieces and eaten alive. If instead of being offended, u'll look into the mirror, and take the harsheities written, into mind, and heart and start to work on ur self, instead of being offended by us and the market fucking eith you, you'll might stand a chance.
Best of luck.

My objections are to being made fun of repeatedly when I have posted with good intentions. I am not saying we have to all trade the same way, I am saying that I did the low time frame scalping bit where trading took over my life and my wrecked my account - and I have found a better way FOR ME. There might be some other traders out there who would appreciate another perspective on how to trade successfully that doesn't require such massive amounts of time and risk invested. But clearly, whether my intentions were good or not - this group does not agree with my premise.

Don't take all the replies to heart...I don't post much on here but I've read a lot of this forum and it seems that almost everyone here is angry and/or bitter and most don't agree with anyone else. The silver lining is that it does provide a lot of contrarian views.

okay, so i will try not to get sucked into the games. i'm just trying to talk price action...does anyone else on this site trade price action? i honestly just started this thread because i can't contribute to the other methods and i don't see a lot of discussion about price action. if not, that's cool. i'll just stick with my trade journal...

aaaww, did we get to you. My appoligies for not meating up to your standards of posting. When you decide to take that rod out of your ass and realise that people have different views and ways of saying them please come back. Some idiots even post videos to blow of a bit of steam. Here is the kicker, some even dare to post bits of humor, how shocking is that. Imagine doing that in a forum, my god help us all please.

Grow up yeah?

manny thks,

Hi KelliPA,
Adding some value to your thoughts on PA, may be difficult for some to comprehend obviously dependent on their style of trading.. but I do trade the weekly PA setups especially engulfing set ups.. I also add in pattern trading on the weekly as a pyramid style add on but not as a hedge.. Past 7 years been very good, so no complaints.. in fact I don't really say much to anybody.. as I'm quite consistent and don't generally feel the need. I also have a daily on the fiber past 5 years utilising a rule based system with a few indicators to assist sl and tp which is generated by the PA... This style of trading requires more patience than most have naturally, but the rewards and quality of life are... a nice balance lol... I attached an xl of results of my daily trading system for you... desire does equal results... keep the faith.... (Psychology in play) 8)

Yup.. Apologies, this is too fast for us. We're monthly chart traders. Hence the confusion.
