Re: ICT Homework Thread

hey guys,

I have a couple questions: anybody run into a problem with their MT4 not letting them save their trading screen as a picture? Mine used to work but for some reason nothing happens when I do that?

2nd question: I'm trying to draw the rectangles like ICT does, copy them and paste them elsewhere (the dealing ranges).... can't figure out how to do that? sounds stupid but wanted to ask. I use both FXDM and FXCM MT4 software.
thanks,
dougl

Re: ICT Homework Thread

To copy paste an object in mt4,
1. select the object first
2. press the control key
3. put the mouse pointer on that object and click and drag
and it will create a duplicate of the original object

Re: ICT Homework Thread

This upcoming week is a bunch of Q1 GDP numbers, FOMC & NFP. Great time to keep up with the Dealer's Range study. I'm not trading next week, but I'll be submitting my Homework. :)

Re: ICT Homework Thread

Day 2:

Though I realize this works better on a 15 minute chart, which I'll redo tomorrow.

Great!
If you draw the fib from the 1.3800 institutional level, you will see it hit the sweet spot a well. So a perfect example of a hidden OTE.

Re: ICT Homework Thread

After watching ICT's central bank webinar I will definitely backtest the central bank range. Really great insight.

My primary pair is USDJPY and Japan is in "Golden Week". No trades this week for me. Plus, I have a lot of research and trade plan development to do.

Re: ICT Homework Thread

First time trying this. I'm very interested to see how this works out as I work overnight on occasion or I'm sleeping so I miss LO.

EUR/USD analysis for 4/29/14

Weekly: 9EMA>18. Clearly bullish. Order block at 1.3820 (thin red line on chart)
Daily: 9>18 Bullish. No clear order blocks nearby, but market structure is up

Looking for price to break dealers range to downside first. If it breaks to upside first, then I'll pass. First Standard Deviation down coincides with 62% of 4/28 impulsive move as well as pullback low and top of Fri/Sun dealer range. I'd rather trade at a clear order block, but there's a lot of confluence here so I'll ignore the lack of O.B. or bigger stop level (by bigger I mean that it should have more than one hit at this level and this only has the one). If price should reverse and move up in the 30-40 price range it should see the 80-90 range given the ADR. The 80 level is right above the top of the 2nd std dev so I'd look to get out there on 2nd half of a long trade if I was to take one. Of course I'd adjust ADR forecast if price dipped a little lower. BTW, I'm using NY close for my charts. I'm just comfortable with that.
