Just be aware that the USDX is an artificial, somewhat out of date, construct,although still useful due to the small weighting of the "irrelevant" pairs.

It is a simple matter to create your own USDX (or even a modified version) and overlay (eg for SMT Divergence) on Charts for which the Broker does not supply the USDX; ie most.

Using Bond Prices is another possibility, although another story again. Some Oanda Brokers provide CFDs on US Bonds

The MT4 pseudo code formula for the USDX is -

USDx=50.14348112
* MathPow(EURUSD,-0.576)
* MathPow(USDJPY, 0.136)
* MathPow(GBPUSD, -0.119)
* MathPow(USDCAD, 0.091)
* MathPow(USDSEK, 0.042)
* MathPow(USDCHF, 0.036);

Hektor, if you like to use volume then have a look at some of the ETF's on the nyse, choose the bigger ones and can be used as a risk proxy - e.g. SPY for USD/JPY - some info here:

In MM5 Mr H uses an MT4 indicator to plot "True Day" verticle lines. does anyone know where I can get hold of this? danka in advance.

Hi Joe,
First, a big thank you and well done for your videos, there are very instructive, you explain very well the ICT concepts and I will recommend them highly as they help me a lot. Second, in one of them you mentioned about Central Bank range and drew some standard deviations, could you please explain the set-ups, timings, etc... ? As you mentioned you were busy with other projects could you let me know where I could find further information (I believe it is not within ICT modules or did I miss something...?). Thanks for your help and good luck with you projects

I believe ICT would tell you he first learned about the Market Maker profiles from Larry Williams. Though, I think, in this case its from the Courses that Larry taught. Though the Market Maker system has likely existed since at least the 1910s.

If you actually pay attention to what Michael talks about, few of the bits are truly "original". Maybe he's given the tool a specific application, but little of it is truly "new". Though Order Blocks is his concept, at least in practical teaching of it. (They're real & exist, but actually pointing them out is his original teaching) He reps for the people he learned lots of his trading from, so I'm still not quite sure why you're so adamant on this point. ICT actually released an entire video on the people he's learned from. It was really good, on its own, actually.

The trades he posts are demo trades, reflective of real ones he takes. And while it's pretty common to claim he's not making the money, watch one of his entire Live Sessions. About 2 hours in, you'll either realize he's the real deal or I question your ability to judge a fake.

I remember investigating Martin Cole's material a couple of years ago and came to the conclusion that he was just pushing his rather pricey, imho worthless, software subscription service.

http://www.trade2win.com/boards/trading-software/5552-martin-coles-pat-software.html

To suggest that MH "copied" MC is truly laughable. Additionally, seems to me that Michael has always gone out of his way to give credit for his mentors(Williams, Raschke, Angell, Lori et al, he even went to the trouble of making a video on the subject.

I've been following ICT since his BP days. Kind of having trouble to understand hes newer concepts(ok more to try and consistently applying them) Is there any material to learn about the orderblock concept except the sniper series and the last market maker vid?

Never easy to see a trade setup until hindsight. Damn... Would have been good !

I was in two minds about this trade. Wasn't sure to trade against the daily down trend or with it. Sure I know now that HTF bias rules and that I should have had the mindset to stay with the trend but I wasn't sure.

Also that stop raid caused by the Judas swing down from NY midnight time (white line) had me thinking it was going to be an up day... Power of 3.

But infact that stopraid was a market structure break to the down side and then retracement 79 OTE level / trading back into a Breaker from yesterday before continuing short.

Unfortunately I was in two minds at the time. Hopefully ICT could shed some light on this matter.

How many of you see the move up after the White line (NY midnight) as the Judas swing rather than the move down at NY midnight time ?

When you pay attention to the attached screenshot, you can see it is a 'classic LO sell'.

First they run the asian sell stops, next they move it up to a resistance line of some sort (ote zone in this case), next a smaller TF ote to short.

See https://www.tradingview.com/v/73f8PVHr/ for some detailed explanation

Who cares in the end if such concepts are from ICT or not, and even if they are not... is that going to affect your balance? You should really concentrate on the trading and studying deeper instead of worrying about this sideline stuff... And even if it's rehashed, still it would be clarified. For example if you read Street Smarts you get an "idea" of the Turtle Soup, the way ICT presents it makes such idea much stronger. Plus to be honest many of the concepts he explained I never heard of and as far as I am concerned my trading is much better now that 2 years ago thanks to ICT for sure, this is a fact, not an hindsight. I am not an blind ICT follower either, but a fact is a fact for me, and I give importance to that.
