I receive the attached file thru my email weekly.

Work done by David Rodriguez, from Daily Fx (FXCM). His work is one of the few that I respect. It's quantitative work done with retail traders positioning vs price.

His contrarian mentality is what I like the most.

Therefore, whenever everybody is saying go long, we should think about going short. Whenever everybody is saying go short, we should think about going long.

Thinking about it, banks want to make waves in one direction so that everybody jump in running. Than, they come with a train and run over everybody.

USD index 5 years extreme net short position ! Commercial dramatically increase there short position in one week :eek:

ICT mentioned that one thing to be mindful on USDX COT Data: it's not heavily traded. It gives hints, but if you look at the actual contract level, it's very small.

The other note is that the Commercials have very few Longs left to unwind. I focus a bit more on double checking the hard data, as I'm not a huge fan of the graphs that most of the free services offer.

2nd link, scroll down to "U.S. DOLLAR INDEX - ICE FUTURES U.S". You'll see the hard data. At this moment, with adding 1,400 Longs, they're at all of 6,577.

I think this is a good opportunity for those who were calling Euro bullishness to step back a little and reflect about what I call fortune telling.


It's my view, once again, that fortune telling makes us no money. Period. Instead, I believe we should work with the cards we currently have at hand and always letting the other players show their cards. Trying to antecipate a players hand can be disasterous.
