Central Bank Dealers Range Indicator

FTMO Trader Scouting

My thanks go out to ICT - the life changer
Hi All,

I've created 4 central bank dealers range indicators (MT4 build 600 and up) and want to share it with you.

You can download the indicators here:
CBDR DAILY: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/307602/fx_indicators/_ICT_CBDR.ex4
CBDR WEEKLY: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/307602/fx_indicators/_ICT_CBDR_WEEKLY.ex4
CBDR MONTHLY: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/307602/fx_indicators/_ICT_CBDR_MONTHLY.ex4
CBDR YEARLY: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/307602/fx_indicators/_ICT_CBDR_YEARLY.ex4

The timeframe to calculate the DAILY CDR is 18:00-00:00 GMT.
It is capable to overflow to the next day, unlike the ICT Asian Range indicator.

Follow properties can be set:
  • Draw the Dealer Range for this number of days: Apart from today, how many days in the past do you want to draw the lines for
  • HourDifferenceFromGMT: Leave this to 0 if on GMT (Forex Ltd), choose -4 in DST for Oanda (and EST brokers) and -5 when no DST. Choose 3 for Pepperstone
  • Colors for the CBR and STD lines buy and sell zones
  • The width and line styles
  • Show the STD 2 and 3 lines
  • Start hour in GMT of the STD lines
  • ExtendHours: Until what GMT time do you want to draw the lines. Defaults to 18, which is to the next dealer range
  • Show vertical lines for kill zones: Asian KZ, London Open KZ, New York Open KZ, Take Profit KZ
  • Short LO and NYO KZ: 7-10GMT and 12-14GMT instead of 11-14GMT

Some people only want to draw the STD lines during the LO session.
For this set:
  • Start hour in GMT of STD Lines to 6 or 7 (for the sort Kill Zones)
  • Extend the STD lines until what GMT time to 10

By default the STD2 and STD3 lines are draw with a line width > 1.
On MT4, when the line width > 1 the lines will be draw SOLID always.

You need to put the indicator in your indicator folder of your MT4 installation.
Check out following article in order to know how to do this:
http://en.tradimo.com/learn/metatrader-4/install-custom-indicator/

Feel free to test it and provide constructive feedback :)

Hi,

I assume you have put the indicator in following folder:
C:\Users\hopiplaka\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\172BCC25D314F0E906794B8ECF7BFC66\MQL4\Indicators.

It might be possible that the identifier (172BCC25D314F0E906794B8ECF7BFC66) is different.

After that you need to restart Metatrader. You will need to adjust the 'Hour difference from GMT' to 3 for Alpari.

I have just downloaded a demo account of Alpari (same build) and it worked using this instructions

Any chance you can upload the .MQ4 file?

Thanks

The setting should be 3 at the moment because it's DST.
You're on Alpari or Pepperstone I guess?

Try this (if you have Vista):
click "start"
right click on logo of your MT4 provider eg FX Pro
click on "open file location"
double click "metaeditor"
click "file" (top left corner)
double click "open data folder"
double click "mql4"
double click "indicator" folder, and paste/drag the CDR indicator into this folder

Took me a while to figure this out, I was going straight into MQL4 folder after opening file location, and pasting straight into the indicator folder there. When I opened my platform I couldn't find any of the indicators.

If anyone knows of an easier way of doing this, please let me know (I have not used MT4 much as i am with FXCM who use Marketscope)

hey! nice indicator, but! :)
I think the it shows the range from 18:00 to 00:59 GMT, instead of 18:00-23:59
Have in mind that, the 00:00 1H candle contains data from 00:00 to 00:59.
On a M5 chart you can see better what I'm trying to say with my perfect english ;D an example could be EURUSD 14-15th of May
Hope that helps :D

Thanks for the effort, but I think this is far beyond over my head.. It's not working, I'm not seeing it in order to put on the chart.

I've put it in here : C:\Program Files (x86)\MetaTrader - Alpari UK\MQL4\Indicators :-\

Thanks anyway!

Hi Ovidiux,

Could you post a screenshot, because I think the range is computed correctly.
The range goes to 00:00, not 23:59.

I've attached a screenshot with vertical indicating the correct hours. Although the 00 bar can stretch above/below the dealer range, the range is just calculated from 18:00 to 00:00, 00:01 is not counted anymore

The STD lines dont appear on my charts.

Could you switch between multiple timeframes? eg. from 1H to 5M and back to 1H.
Sometimes the screen is not refreshed properly, I'm investigating why. But switching between timeframes should fix that in the mean time.

Hi,

To find the correct folder where the indicator need to be, you can use following link:
http://en.tradimo.com/learn/metatrader-4/install-custom-indicator/

Be sure to restart Metatrader after putting the indicator in that location.

The indicator will only work with MT4 builds > 600, are you still using the older (and soon to be deprecated) version?

You are right!
My broker is +3GMT and I was watching the 2AM bar instead of 3AM bar as the end of the range. It was before drinking coffe :)
My bad, sorry!

Great indicator btw, and thanks for sharing!

Hi Hopiplaka,

I solved the problem, thanks to u and all who send advice to me.

I'm currently using MT4 Build 646

Hi Markkus22,

Great all worked out for you. Was it the link that did the trick, or something else. If it as something different, it might be nice to share with the community?

One of these days a new version will be uploaded where you can draw the kill zones, the start of the STD lines, and choose different colours for buy and sell zones.

I think it was about my inability to use MT4, therefore the email from one of our members helped me a lot ;):

Instead of opening the MQL4 folder, look down (about 5th folder down) is metaeditor.

Open metaeditor, click file (top left corner), open "open data folder", NOW you open MQL4 folder and put indicator inside indicator folder

Hope this helps

Cheers
MIke

Hi Hopiplaka,

Not sure whether you are in today's ICT live session or not. He mentioned about your CDR Indi (BTW thank you for sharing, it's been useful), and he suggested that if it is possible to change the CDR & SD Lines into blocks instead of lines that can extend to 18HR GMT.
