just look at the H1 OB
starts at 12482 (TP2)
just took TP1 at 12459

entry 12435 after it worked the OB

Being countertrend, as well as Friday, its hit and run with stop for TP2 moved to +10

excellent trade management skills, but still believe the big payout for the day will be on the sell side personally..

we'll see

Yes, I'm always a little wary of going countertrend. However, in this case the Fiber was sitting on top of an OB, certainly not a good place to go short. It had been working the D1 OB for a couple of weeks, so at least an intermediate bounce could be expected, although obviously no guarantee.

The 'trick' with countertrend is not to be greedy (eg aim for less than the ADR) and to move stops agressively. My initial stops are never greater than 10pips, so still good RR.

I usually avoid trading Fridays, however in this case the OB was too enticing and rounded off the end of month pip haul.

Whether or not it eventually hits TP2 remains to be seen, nevertheless I'll close all positions (also have on an Aussie Long, even though I see the Aussie eventually sliding to sub 70 -our economy about to enter the abyss imho, the boom is over) before the end of the NYOKZ.

Thanks. The OB tool concept is worth persevering with. Basically I use the OB as the horizontal levels ie prices, the LOKZ and NYKZ as the vertical levels ie times. All the other stuff (eg KSRs CBDR AR etc etc) has to fit into the resulting boxes (hunting zones), otherwise no trade.

I often wonder the reason why MH did not introduce OBs early in his teaching, it would have saved me a lot of time and effort.

I wonder that too. The price action makes way more sense when you understand where the OBs are.

I'm sure he'd say that the extra time and effort was good for us :p

can I give you a tip, since you're on my thread already...

don't worry about missing Michael's random live sessions. They're interesting to sit in on if you're available, but all the material that is needed to be wildly profitable is in his video series.

I'm certain that Piper would also be willing to provide you with a few needed trading tips

Order blocks should be consumed with Shop sauce.

When I first found ICT's older work on the other forum, I noticed it took people a while to actually warm up to the... OTE. I don't think ICT was wrong about not pointing the Order Blocks out as we think of them now.

However, he did. One of his really early videos, he lays out the "sensitive" levels at Swing points. Which is him actually pointing out the Order Block and the Mitigation Block aspects. He actually lined out a huge chain of trades on AUD, I think it was, in that video. He was, technically, just showing the levels pair bouncing off those sensitive levels. Now, we have a lot better understanding of it happening. ( I can't find the video at the moment, the library is pretty big) So, for at much as ICT keeps "improving" the methods, its really more about improving the accuracy of entries & exits.

As for my own trading, I have no intention of being a Forum Warrior. ;D But things take time, and Time is what I have.

yeah, I even remember in an early "asian range" video, he mentioned order blocks. Didn't explain the concept really, but just by the words I wondered... did ICT know where the big boys were putting their orders, literally? I guess he did! lol
