HOWTO install Oanda Desktop (fxTrade) on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS or Debain

Are you on 18.04 LTS with the Unity desktop? Sounds like when you double click the shortcut you're opening the shortcut in a text editor instead of having it launch the application. If you open a terminal window, you can execute it yourself by copying and pasting the line in your post after...

    Need review for Funding Talent

I do not currently recommend them. I do not feel comfortable with a brand that sensationalizes and twists the prop industry model to get attention. There are some good choices available that we have detailed here...

Almost sure the broker is a scam, but I do not understand this!?

Did you meet your "friends" online? Was it a social or dating site? Are you aware there's an extremely common scam being seen where people are befriended online by an attractive person of the sex you're into, spending weeks or even months building a "relationship", then they start bragging...

How to acquire free historical Tick and Bar data for algo trading and backtesting in 2020! [Stocks, Forex, and Crypto Currency]

I believe in teaching, and encourage people to figure it out themselves after pointing them in the right direction.. but that said, this one turns out to be more than just an extra line given you gotta declare a conversion key for the aggregate. So harder than the 'one liner' I suggested...

How to acquire free historical Tick and Bar data for algo trading and backtesting in 2020! [Stocks, Forex, and Crypto Currency]

Where are you getting stuck? It's a well documented process .. like an extra line or two. What did you try?

    Which broker?

As little as possible if you're new. No more than you're comfortable never seeing again. Consider it money spent on learning. Go slow. Only increase your account and trade size when you see consistency.

How to acquire free historical Tick and Bar data for algo trading and backtesting in 2020! [Stocks, Forex, and Crypto Currency]

Yes, it's possible to do this via Pandas (that the script already uses.) After the line that sets the timestamp as your index you'd then use a resample function. Read up on how to use panda's resample function in the official pandas docs. It includes examples. Link here...

[Forex] - Trader Scouting and Prop Firms Overview and Comparison

Also, I think this logic might seem intuitive upfront, but when you consider that the failure rate in the industry is near 95% over a 3-5 year period, the math doesn't work out. If an institutional firm is working a structural edge (that is, not just a strategy but a market function where they...

[Forex] - Trader Scouting and Prop Firms Overview and Comparison

I had to remove your other posts as they aren't contributing to the point of this thread (which is a comparison of trader scouting programs and info on the prop industry in general.) In the first post of this thread, the differences between a traditional prop (what you are describing) and what...

[Forex] - Trader Scouting and Prop Firms Overview and Comparison

It's hard to go on reviews alone given the nature of trading and how people will externalize blame for their own mistakes. I can say I know people who've been paid out by them.. so as long as the rules are being followed, they do pay out.. Not much more you can ask from a scouting firm aside...

    xglobal?

I cannot recommend xglobal I would, however, point out Pepperstone, as they are regulated by multiple jurisdictions in Europe (UK, Germany, etc..) and have excellent execution quality.

Edited with updated The 5%ers info in the table (they expanded their program,) which also changes my overall opinion at the end of the post. Always pick the best tool for the job, and it seems The 5%ers fits in nicely for experienced traders.

[Forex] - Trader Scouting and Prop Firms Overview and Comparison

Well, I never said The 5%ers weren't worth it... their offering is just presented differently than other firms so I was contrasting it a bit better to what else is on the market. Regarding TopStepFX, I'm considering this one on an upside/downside sorta basis. Given they let you earn your first...
