ICT Forexmas 2014 / Market Maker Series

I doubt you hate trading, you look like your making a killing in the markets. Using ICT's concepts, I believe it makes trading much more predictable than where I was a year ago. And its also about being comfortable during unpredictable times which is also something hard to do but I would hardly say its boring. If anything, its fun knowing how challenging it is and when I do overcome my hurdles, I will be among the elite!!

If I was in your position, I would close the charts and never think about trading again. I only trade out of spite, for all the pain I've endured over the years because of this bullshit "career".

You can't succeed until you know how to lose. I have no problem with losing money. Its part of trading.

Anyone else want to pretend like they're actually making a Go of this?

please start the conversation with how much you've lost to expediate the process.

I've lost my capital several times, its like wash and rinse! But must say my experience in trading has improved whilst learning ICT concepts, though its long way to go.......to achieve that consistent profit ;)

Yeah it's all fun and games on the penny accounts.

Fuck trading. I hate it. I guess it just isn't for me.

Just be careful, you might think trading is for you when you're playing for pocket change, but things change when the money is real.

Bye Folks, I've stayed too long and said too much...

LOL Gunner is not going anywhere, he is just feeding his psychological needs. Interesting pathology we have here. His 'real' life does not provide the attention and feedback the Forums provide.

Gunner, ISIS is recruiting, if, on the less than one percent chance, you are sincere.

Not sure if trolling or not but this is also for anyone else close to throwing in the towel.

Like ICT says...we are playing with the Apex Predators...the best of the best...each trade, all the time, in the biggest, greediest market on the planet that is designed to destroy us. They have the most money, influence over the markets, the fastest computers & algos, the smartest algo programmers, the most resources, news in their hands before us, experience and are not limited to the human condition like us (employees around the globe in diff time zones). We have to eat and sleep and do other things so we can't catch every move on every pair every day. The way I see it, the market is the ocean, the brokers are the unfriendlies, and newbs are just newborns learning how to surf. Some drown and some give up. It's only natural and expected for newbs to struggle.

Who is a newb? Anyone who is not a consistent pro. Would you expect to make CONSISTENT money right away or even within the first few years of being thrown into a pro league of an international sport that you've never played or trained in before? Sure it's different going from penny accounts to standard lots or higher, but that's not how we're supposed to roll. Trade micro lots until justifiable consistency. I call it "live demo". Builds experience, yet saves money and stress. What is justifiable consistency? A steadily rising equity curve over a long period of time, 6-8+ months using a consistent method & not jumping up size to make up losses. Then start to increase position size in small increments as confidence increases at this point it might be every week or every few trades but it depends on your trade frequency. Ignore P&L during trades and only looking at your R:R avg. Doing this until you reach around 2% risk on every trade, there shouldnt be any dramatic shift from "pocket change" to "the money is real" as there will be losses along the way. Confidence increases only with experience - LIVE trades under your belt & sufficient backtesting, fwd testing and most importantly, following your own guidelines/rules. (How can you trust yourself if you can't trust your own method or yourself to follow your own rules?) IMO you can't blow a properly funded account if you have an edge and use proper management. Take a break and give it another go.

I feel like trading is negatively affecting my relationships (because of my sleep schedule mainly), and it is causing me a lot of stress. Now I'm getting worried/depressed because I'm wondering if I can even handle it over the long-term.

I can make money, sure, but at what cost? Serious questions in my life, with very unpromising answers...

I'm sure I have a million pathologies, but I'm not yankin' your chain for kicks, I'm just really stressed at the moment. I genuinely do want to quit trading, and I genuinely do want to stop coming to this stupid forum, but as you accurately pointed out, I do have a need for Money and Attention.

... and as for the ISIS part, Fuck you.

why is your sleep schedule bad? are you trading LO and NY? how about just trading NY then and have a "normal" workday like everyone else in your country.

the disaffected are prime recruiting material.

On a more serious note, I suspect that Trading is the least of your issues.
