Very true but this is also one of the biggest truths & falsehoods in trading and you have really hit my question on the head.
Firstly my belief is anyone successful has learnt their skills from mentors, others, normally multiple people / books , be it direct or indirect then through a process of osmosis get something that works for them. I truly believe that most successful entrepreneurs don't come up with something new, they just learn from someone that has gone before and improve on it or make it of interests in today's world.

E.g if I wanted to be good at golf and I hired tiger woods coach, he is proven quality and this does gives me best chance of becoming a better golfer. Will I become top ten in the world? Possibly but most likely not as only the few get to this level. Will his teaching methods work for me? Maybe but if he is screaming and shouting to motivate then no. Could I end up knowing my own style and getting a team around me that works better. Yep.

However if I employ tiger woods coach and in fact he is a scamming snake oil salesmen who knows sweet fa and is just taking my money and teaching my poor technique, do I have a good chance of become a good golfer? I would say no, but I guess I could get their despite it.

So sorry to ramble but for me I 100% believe in getting people who can really trade and not just sell to teach me. Ultimately we can all talk about the turtles and scalping vs. swing trading and finding my own groove etc but to have someone teach a methodology that really works must be a great step forward. If not should I get Anton on Ftseday to help me?

Not yet as I believe that anyone selling a product will sell it to you 99% of the time even if its not of value or not suitable.

Hope my long post clears things up......maybe I think to much but I have been burnt before with paid for teachings.

if your making a profit your well ahead of the game ,all you need now is to be consistent and up your size ,you dont need anything else ,what ever you use its working .if you share what u do ,someone maybe have something to show what your missing care to post a few charts ,could save you some money before joining anything else .

If you ever watch that series Million dollar traders, Anton looked like the office boy passing instructions from Van Dame. Van Dame also has a comprehensive course. I had "peeked" in on that course and useful for those wanting to know what TA is all about.

But Anton has taken it one step ahead in terms of education, learn at exotic places. Does it matter if you peek out of the training room with blue sky, sun shine and cocktails from the waiter OR a dingy basement with just white walls and Nescafe on the side? LOL Anton is selling you a dream and he is having fun doing it jet setting to these exotic locations. I rather wait for Warren Buffet's course!
