A thought occured to me...

We're a psychology based forum... well at least Jack is :D lol

So why don't we have a list of reading material?

I don't want to sort through all the mess of categorizing or alpabetizing and what not but I feel presentation despite organization is key so it's easier to search so just list it like this:

"Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas - Book

"Trader" A documentary about Paul Tudor Jones - Video

My personal collection since I am highly technical based is

"Long Term Secrets to Short Term Trading" by Larry R. Williams - Book

"Trading with the Insiders" by Larry R Williams - Book

There's a few at home I forgot the title's of but I will list them when I get there.

One of the more enjoyable reads in my collection.

Trading Realities - Jeff Augen

A very good overview of just how unpredictable the markets can be and a big wake up call to be looking for statistically significant edges instead of just gut trading.

Algorithmic Trading and DMA: An Introduction To Direct Access Trading Strategies - Barry C Johnson.

Good if you want a basic crash course with indicators really in depth.

Enhancing Trader Performance
proven strategies from the cutting edge of trading psychology

by Brett N. Steenbarger

That looks interesting.. how did you find the book? Was it a "mining nuggets out of ore" or "couldn't put the book down and read it cover to cover"?

About a year ago I found the book while scrolling through a forex blog.

I read through the first 4 or 5 chapters and found it pretty interesting. I set it aside to read Adventures of a Currency Trader and The New Market Wizards and never got back around to finishing it. So thanks to this thread I now have it on my to do list for this weekend. :D

So funny enough, my manager is reading this book as we speak. I just found it on his desk and asked about it. He says it's rather good so far (of the half he's read) and says it's worth reading.

So that clinched it, I just grabbed a copy and it should arrive soon.

Fooled By Randomness Book by Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Almost forgot this one its quite a good read I never fully finished it and it got buried in my stack of books.

I may revisit it one day but from the portion I read it was quite entertaining

Not quite a trading book though, but great to help shape your mentality toward risk and probabilities.

I'm half way though Taleb's Antifragile right now, which is an awesome followup that expands greatly on 'Fooled by Randomness'. (Thought, it's not a sequel or anything, just touches upon some of the same concepts but goes further out to tie probabilities into optionality.)

Phantom of the Pits.

Interview with a trader circa late 90's who wished to remain anonymous.

Available free online.

Attached is a bit of a book - it's the 4 chapters free extract of High Performance Trading.

There are some practical and brief podcast files by the same author here:

Here's a copy of Sam Eder's book, The Definitive Guide to Building A Winning Forex Trading System.

This is published/provided by AxiTrader, Australia. So if you don't have an Axi account and haven't seen this before, this is for you. I split it into sections so I could upload it to the server here so just reattach the parts if you feel like it.

The book is basic but broad enough in scope to possibly be of interest to some. You'll be glad to know that it has nothing to do with building or using robots or automated anything. It is about developing a broad-based and systematic approach to trading.

Anyone knows where i can get "How i made million dollars last year trading..." By Larry Williams PDF file?

Beat The Forex Dealer - http://www.amazon.com/Beat-Forex-Dealer-insiders-exchange/dp/0470722088

I've read dozens of trading books, at least 50+ and this is one that really stands out to me. Maybe it's because it doesn't really focus on trading "techniques" at all - but it's a rather direct reality check to the FX markets.
